How We Operate
Collect Australia is a commission-only operation.
If we don't collect your money, you don't pay us anything. That's
a pretty good way of keeping us highly motivated. And the more effort
we put into a case, the more determined we become to recover your
debt - otherwise we've been working hard for nothing!
In something like 19 cases out of 20 we are able to
secure payment without incurring any additional costs at all. But where
it becomes necessary to proceed to the courts, or undertake an interstate
trace, or to do a company search (all of which cost mony), we will always
seek your approval before incurring these expenses.
We do not lightly recommend outlaying money to
chase a debt, and will only do so where we feel that the likelihood
of collecting money is high.
Collect Australia seldom engages the services
of a solicitor (we feel that they are rich enough already) and needless
to say, if ever we do, our company does not receive a commission
or kick-back from the solicitor concerned. We treat your money as
we would our own…and we're not given to spending it unless we can
see a clear benefit
We have staff out in the field, knocking on doors, dropping into
workplaces, calling into offices….and it's all part of Collect Australia's
service, free!
If
there's any secret to our success over the years, it's probably
the fact that we are passionate about establishing and maintaining the most
effective communication with debtors. Whilst there is no doubt
whose interests we are focused on (yours) we do see it as part of our
role to work with the debtor (not just to harass and threaten him) in
getting your account paid. It's a matter of pride that many debtors
express genuine gratitude for our "help" and some of them later become
our clients, asking us to collect their overdue accounts.
Whilst we really don't want to start "knocking'
others in our field, we suggest you have a look at the charges other
agencies make. One even bills you $75 if someone goes out to knock on a door!
Merely to send a couple of letters followed by a
summons is not our idea of debt collection. We favour conflict resolution,
mediation and negotiation, rather than intimidation and harassment.
Our people have perfected the skill of being assertive without being
aggressive! And that's not because we're wimps, it's because our
approach produces better results.
Of course some situations demand a tougher
approach, and then we act accordingly. It all depends on the briefing
we get from our clients and the true circumstances of the debtors.
